In possibly the second series of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares (UK), I distinctly remember Gordon Ramsay trying to help a British woman attempting to make a go of a vegetarian restaurant in Paris. One of the first things he did was have her sell tomato soup with cheese-on-toast for four or five Euros during a lunch service, and nothing else. The restaurant ended in disaster but that particular service was a roaring success. Since then it’s been one of my favourite quick meals. Hello, easy and delicious Saturday tea.
