An Introduction

Hello. I figured the best way to start this blog was with an introduction. I’m Rachel Davies, although, I’ll answer to Ray if you shout it at me from across the street. I started this blog because I came to the realisation that I’m smitten with food. Watching cooking shows on telly, reading about food, buying ingredients, cooking and most importantly… eating! 

I don’t believe in calorie counting or that food should be feared. Food is to be adored. It genuinely upsets me when people say things like “I wish humans didn’t need to eat to survive.” Someone I know regularly says that to me while looking me straight in the eye. Food is more than fuel which allows us to function from morning to evening. It’s exciting and something that should be looked forward to; whether it’s a packet of Roast Beef flavoured Monster Munch or a meal in a Michelin starred restaurant. 

I’m planning on using this blog as a place to collect all the foodie bits and pieces which cross my path every day. I’ll share my own cooking and baking successes and gush over other people’s too. At least here I can spam people with food-porn as much as my heart desires. I also have a thing for food packaging design, so you can expect some of that to pop up from time to time. 

It may seem an odd combination, but as well as having a food obsession, I also have a decade-deep infatuation with professional wrestling. I have been running for a little over a year now and I love it as if it were my own child. 

As I don’t want this to sound like an audition for MasterChef, I’ll sign off and give you some proper posts now. I hope you enjoy reading this blog as much as I expect to enjoy filling it with edible delights.
